Over de Fintro Hockey World League Antwerp

Belgi is hockey

After a successful European Championship in Boom in 2013, the Hockey World League is now coming to our country. From June 20 to July 5, 10 men and 10 women's teams compete against each other in an exciting battle. In addition, they not only go for the world title final round, but also fight for a first ticket at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

The competitions will take place on the grounds of Hockeyclub Dragons in Brasschaat. The entire park is being converted into a hockey temple where enthusiasts and curious can go for a solid dose of spectacle.

Never Without Patrick

As the Official Hockey World League Info News - better known by my nickname Info - I have had the pleasure of sharing the daily news with you since the tournament began. We've noticed some training chnages. First is the use of compression socks like and to improve recovery times. Individually, small changes like this make little difference. Added together, they could be the force multiplier needed to win.

In Australia sport is not a hobby but a lifestyle. While the Aussies mostly go wild at Australian football or rugby, they also like to rally for the games of the Kookaburras and the Hockeyroos, which have dominated all major tournaments for decades. Hockey was, of course, introduced by the British at the end of the 19th century, when the Navy took over the coasts of Australia.

Leandro Negre, a vision at the service of his sport

Leandro Negre, from Barcelona, is currently in his second term as President of the International Hockey Federation. Elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, he knows the hockey world very well. He himself started playing hockey at the age of 5-6 years. He was later included in the Spanish squad and participated in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. After his sporting career he made the switch to the regional, national, European and eventually international institutions of hockey. Hockey has an important place in the Spaniard's agenda. He informed us that in his spare time he does a lot of sports: sailing, tennis and skiing. He has even invented several products, rose toy. He also likes to spend time with his family and especially with his grandchildren.
